About War on the Floor

About War on the Floor:

War On The Floor (WOTF) is a brand with a focus on the power of prayer.  A focus on who we are as followers of Christ and the ultimate power of our living God.  A focus on humility and faith and our total reliance on Jesus as both our strength in this life and our Savior for the next

Ephesians 6:12 says, “For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places”.

Sometimes we have a personal need or a need for someone we love.  Sometimes it may be for someone we don’t even know or for a situation that looms on our hearts.

I think we have all heard and read accounts that make us say, “I wish I could do more”, I wish I was there to help”, I wish I would have known about that”, “I wish I would have been there when it happened – maybe I could have done something”.  It can be a feeling that causes guilt, helplessness and a sense of frustration.

We also have times of praise, honor and worship.  Times when we are in awe of our God and Creator. Times when we simply want to express our gratitude, our love and our thankfulness for the many blessings He provides daily.

God knew all this.  He sent His son Jesus as a living sacrifice to save us from eternal suffering.  He gave us the Holy Spirit to be with us and intercede on our behalf and He gave us prayer as a way to intimately communicate with Him.

So, maybe we can’t just hop on a plane and help all those in need around the world.  Maybe we won’t always be in a position to assist during times of emergency.  Maybe we won’t always know the needs of those around us but we do have prayer.  We can all at any time and in any situation call out to God on behalf of ourselves and others.  Sometimes we might cry out, sometimes we might yell out and sometimes we might silently be still as we talk with God.

Why WOTF:

The Bible makes it quite clear that our true enemy is not seen as flesh and blood but is the unseen spirits of evil.  Satan and his fallen evil servants are alive and well, though temporarily and are constantly battling for our devotion.

Unlike God, satan is not all powerful, omnipresent nor omniscient.  But he and his evil servants are real and we are no match for them apart from God. In John 8:44 Jesus calls satan the father of lies.  In 2 Corinthians 11:14-15, Paul says that satan portrays himself as an angel of light and his servants portray themselves as servants of righteousness.  They are wolves in sheeps clothing, false teachers that appeal to the flesh of this world.  Luring us in to things that “look good” in the world but are clearly against the teachings of God.

This is why we must humble ourselves, flee the ways of the world and seek God on a daily basis.  When we pray we’re not only in open communication with God.  We are also warring against the forces of evil that surround us constantly.  As a result there are times when we truly need to get on our knees and wage war as spirits of evil fight for our time and our resources.
